Downtown Fort Wayne Issues Statement Regarding Proposed Homeless Services Center

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – We thank the Mayor and City of Fort Wayne for their work to address homelessness in our community, and our organization will continue to advocate to the City on behalf of our downtown property owners. While we recognize the need to address this important and sensitive issue, we believe the City should slow the process to fully evaluate the impacts this type of facility will have on other downtown properties, and to allow meaningful input from the many stakeholders invested in the long-term vitality of downtown.

As we continue private discussions with stakeholders, we will have no further public comment and will not participate in media interviews at this time.
