settled in Downtown Fort Wayne back in 2007—several years before Downtown hit its growth spurt. Throughout Downtown’s countless culinary come-ups, Pint & Slice remains a staple spot to grab a quick slice, order a carryout pie, or host a pizza party.
Located in the historic building at 816 Calhoun Street, Pint & Slice has evolved with the times; they’re donning murals, offering extensive vegan options, and teasing at some new deep-dish options coming soon.
As their name suggests, you can order their classic American-style pizza by the slice or as a whole. Grab a pint while you’re at it, and check out their salads, calzones, grinders and pasta!

Big Apple Pizza – New York-style
Another Downtown favorite, Big Apple Pizza, specializes in New York-style pies, from foldable Manhattan hand-tossed to Brooklyn focaccia-style deep dish to vodka pizza—a Staten Island original that swaps out traditional tomato sauce for Italian vodka sauce.
Big Apple Pizza operated on the outskirts of Downtown for six years before making the move from Wells Street to Wayne Street in 2020. Their new home suits their urban vibe, where you can pop in for some authentic NYC grub, available for dine-in or take-out.
In addition to their traditional New York-style pizzas, Big Apple offers something for everyone with gluten-free crusts, vegan pies, and low-carb crustless “pizza bowls”—not traditional NYC fare, but still full of Big Apple flavor.

Alto Grado – Wood-fired Neapolitan-style, Detroit-style, and American Classic
Before setting up shop on The Landing, Alto Grado was dishing out gourmet Neapolitan-style pizzas at pop-up events, festivals and private parties with their on-the-go wood-fired oven. While they still offer catering, they’ve really taken root within Columbia Street’s flourishing food scene.
With their brick-and-mortar pizzeria came the capacity to expand their menu into other styles of pizza. Now, you can take your pick from their original wood-fired pizza, classic American-style, rectangular Detroit-style, and dessert pizzas. Not in the mood for pizza? They also serve grinders, calzones, fresh baked artisan breads, and salads. There’s truly something for everyone—no need to compromise (on your pizza preference or quality)!

Arbor at The Bradley – Wood-fired Neapolitan-style
A boutique hotel may not be the first place that comes to mind when thinking about pizza, but don’t discount Arbor—a sleek eatery inside The Bradley Hotel that offers a mix of classics from Italy and staples from the American steakhouse. Think Naples meets the Midwest!
Since Arbor isn’t a full-on pizzeria, it doesn’t have an extensive list to choose from. Their hearth-fired Neapolitan-style pizza is definitely worth a try, though, with two delicious versions—a classic tomato basil and a piccante with spicy cured meats. Can’t decide between the two? You can order it half and half!
