What To Expect at the Tincaps’ 16th Season

This April marks the beginning of the Fort Wayne TinCaps’ 16th season. It’s an exciting time for the Fort Wayne community. Whether you’re an avid baseball fan or sports-agnostic, the award-winning, newly remodeled Parkview Field stadium beckons. It’s the ultimate gathering space with entertainment on and off the field. Eager to celebrate the return of warm weather? Can’t wait to root for the home team? Love hotdogs and nachos? Regardless of your motivation, this season is sure to please.

What can you expect from the TinCaps’ 2025 season? We spoke with the TinCaps’ John Nolan to get the 4-1-1.

Molly: Is there anything new or special happening that fans should be aware of this season?

John: This TinCaps season, fans can continue to expect affordable, family-friendly fun at Parkview Field.

The team’s 16th season will feature much of what fans have enjoyed over the years, and also some new! This year the team is debuting a new primary home jersey and a new uniform style for Hispanic Heritage games (of course that’s on top of many specialty jerseys, like the one for SpongeBob Day on June 29).

As for Parkview Field, the ballpark has new LED lights, like you see at MLB stadiums. We also have updated concessions. New tasty items include apple grilled cheese, apple pancakes, and cookies from the famous Cookie Cottage. And for fans with tickets to a suite, that level of the ballpark has been refreshed as well.

There are too many new promotions to name, but check out TinCaps.com/extras for details!

Molly: So exciting! I know the ballpark has won so many awards, but can you tell me some of the team’s recent accomplishments?

John: Of course! The TinCaps have won four of Minor League Baseball’s major awards in the last decade. Out of the 120 teams in Minor League Baseball, no other organization has won more than two.

Looking at last season, the TinCaps averaged 5,590 fans per home game. This was the team’s highest average attendance since 2018.

Parkview Field’s 19 sellouts were the most at the ballpark since 2017. Fort Wayne’s average attendance ranked 24th out of MiLB’s 120 franchises (the market’s highest ranking since 2016). So the team is continuing to grow in popularity.

Molly: Is there anything else you want people to know about the TinCaps or this year’s season?

John: TinCaps tickets continue to start at just $7, with seats behind home plate for only $15! Group tickets offer a great value too.

And don’t forget, there are future major leaguers on the field! Entering this season, 229 TinCaps (and Wizards) alumni have appeared in the big leagues, including San Diego Padres All-Stars Fernando Tatis, Jr. (2017) and Jackson Merrill (2023).

18-year-old shortstop Leo De Vries is currently the No. 1 prospect for the Padres and one of the most exciting prospects in all of baseball right now. See him in Fort Wayne while you can!

Molly: John, thanks so much for the info! We’re all looking forward to another excellent season for the TinCaps!

John: My pleasure!
