FORT WAYNE, Ind. Downtown Fort Wayne (DTFW) announced today that Riley Hollenbaugh has been selected as the organization’s Executive Director, concluding a comprehensive search for its next permanent leader.

Hollenbaugh brings experience in community and economic development, downtown revitalization, public space activation, and community engagement. He most recently served as Riverfront Manager with the City of Fort Wayne’s Parks and Recreation Department, where he led programming and community engagement efforts at Promenade Park and Headwaters Park and helped connect residents and visitors with Fort Wayne’s riverfront.

“Riley brings a strong combination of experience, relationships, and an understanding of what makes Downtown Fort Wayne successful,” said Tom Ludwiski, Chair of the Downtown Fort Wayne Board of Directors. “As Downtown Fort Wayne begins a new 10-year term and serves a larger district, we were looking for a leader who could build on the organization’s strong foundation while bringing people together around what comes next. We are excited to welcome Riley to this role.”

Prior to his work with Riverfront Fort Wayne, Hollenbaugh served as Director of Community Development for the Whitley County Economic Development Corporation, where he led community development and downtown revitalization initiatives. His work included the creation of Ohki Alley, a pedestrian dining and gathering space in Columbia City, and an outdoor movie park in South Whitley.

Hollenbaugh also previously led downtown improvement, tourism, and economic development efforts for nationally accredited Main Street organizations in Grayling and Saline, Michigan. His experience included streetscape projects, façade improvement programs, small-business initiatives, public space development, and community engagement.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to lead Downtown Fort Wayne and continue serving a community I care deeply about,” said Hollenbaugh. “I look forward to working alongside our businesses, property owners, residents, and community partners, listening to their perspectives and building on the relationships and momentum that make Downtown such an important part of our community.”

Hollenbaugh joins Downtown Fort Wayne at a significant time for the organization. In January, DTFW began a new 10-year term with an expanded Economic Improvement District that increased its service area by approximately 42%, including the addition of the Wells Street and Broadway corridors.

Effective immediately, Hollenbaugh will begin transitioning from his role as Riverfront Manager with Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation into his new role as Executive Director of Downtown Fort Wayne.
