Your favorite Downtown lunchtime event, Lunch on the Square, returns for its 12th season every Thursday in June, July and August but this time with a twist! Beginning on June 4 and continuing until July 2, you can enjoy Lunch on the Square as a Downtown Fort Wayne Facebook Live virtual event every Thursday from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
While we may not yet be able to host this event in a public space, we are thrilled for the opportunity to continue to support local artists amid distancing guidelines in our community. We are even more excited to share this privilege with you! Each week we will “pass the virtual hat” by posting a digital tip jar during and after the Lunch on the Square Facebook Livestream event so that you too can join us in financially supporting the musicians whom we all have come to know and love. You may also encourage performers with your accolades by commenting in the livestream feed. Each week, one commenter will be randomly selected to win a $25 restaurant gift card!
Downtown Improvement District President Michael Galbraith said, “While we wait for all of the restrictions and concerns to lift about easing social distancing, there are no restrictions on enjoying the local performers that are a crucial part of Lunch on the Square from a distance. We’re hopeful that as the weather heats up, we’ll be able to get back into Freimann Square and back to fully enjoying Downtown Fort Wayne!”
Please join us Thursdays in June, July and August as we stay physically distant but socially connected.
Stay tuned for more information about our return to Freimann Square.
