Downtown Fort Wayne offers a wide range of events throughout the year. The Downtown Improvement District stays heavily involved in the planning and promotion of these events which can be viewed on our DID Events Page.
Take a break from Winter with family activities, ice carving demonstrations and displays, light sculptures, and cultural activities around downtown with ice skating at Headwaters Park. Citilink runs a free loop around downtown from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Spring Trolley Shopping (5/17/14)
11:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Ride a free trolley to support retailers and restaurants across downtown and help our museums, library and gallery gift shops among other organizations. Ride the trolleys to all kinds of activities and shop at great downtown locations.
Lunch on the Square – (June – August)
911 South Calhoun Street every Thursday. Enjoy a free concert at One Summit Square, 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
4 p.m. – 11 p.m. A celebration of the street performer and a festival of the unexpected, no performance is too quirky.
Busker Square @ Taste of the Arts (8/23/14)
11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Freimann Square, 200 East Main Street, becomes Busker Square for the day celebrating the arts through street performance at this Arts United fundraiser, held in the cultural district on Main Street. Downtown’s largest celebration of arts, history, culture and local food. Taste of the Arts Website
Fright Night (10/18/14)
Multiple events all over Downtown Fort Wayne, Downtown Fort Wayne’s annual Halloween event features the zombie walk, haunted tours and spooky activities with fundraising activities and many free events at over 14 cultural district locations
Night of Lights / HolidayFest (11/26/14)
Multiple Downtown locations, The Holiday season officially begins with the Night of Lights and activities all over downtown. Most downtown cultural locations will start their holiday fundraisers on this night including the Embassy Theatre’s Festival of Trees, History Center Festival of Gingerbread and Science Central’s Train Show.
Holly Trolley (11/29/14)
Multiple Downtown locations, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Ride free trolleys to shop for unique holiday gifts at many great locations and support local businesses.
