January 25 – Winterval / Last Saturdays
Take a break from Winter with family activities, ice carving demonstrations and displays, light sculptures, cultural activities and ice skating at Headwaters Park. Citilink runs a free loop around downtown from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.
February 6 – GroundHog Open
8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. Indoor golf fundraiser to expand the downtown flower planter program. GroundHog Open 2013 Website.
June through August – Lunch on the Square
Every Thursday enjoy a free concert with your carry-out lunch at One Summit Square, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be no LOTS on the 4th of July.
June 28 – BuskerFest / Last Saturdays
4 p.m. – 10 p.m. A celebration of the street performer and a festival of the unexpected, no performance is too quirky
August 24 – Taste of the Arts / Last Saturdays
Fundraiser for Arts United, held in the cultural district on Main Street. Downtown’s largest one-day celebration of arts, history, culture and local food includes Busker Square sponsored by the DID. Taste of the Arts
October 18 – Fright Night
Multiple events all over Downtown Fort Wayne, Downtown Fort Wayne’s annual Halloween event features the zombie walk, haunted tours and spooky activities with fundraising activities and many free events at over 14 cultural district locations.
November 26 – Night of Lights
The Holiday season officially begins with the Night of Lights and activities all over downtown. Most downtown cultural locations will start their holiday fundraisers on this night, including the Embassy Theatre Festival of Trees, History Center Festival of Gingerbread, and Science Central’s Festival of Trains.
November 29 – Holly Trolley / Last Saturdays
The third annual Holly Trolley shopping supports downtown retailers and helps our museum, library, and gallery gift shops too! The free trolley is a great way to explore HolidayFest events too. Learn more at HolidayFest.
